Reflecting on COP28: A Leap Towards a Greener Future

The 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) held in Dubai was not just a gathering of nations; it was a clarion call for action in the face of the existential threat posed by climate change. At the heart of this global summit was a resolute focus on accelerating the transition to renewable energy—a shift that demands robust commitment and proactive measures from renewable energy companies worldwide.

Among the distinguished attendees was Chairman Milo Zhang from Tinergy Group who advocated for the pivotal role of renewable energy companies in driving transformative change. His presence underscored the imperative for these companies to step up and lead the charge towards a sustainable future. Throughout COP28, discussions reverberated with urgency, emphasizing the need for renewable energy companies to not merely be passive actors in the transition to renewable energy but proactive drivers of innovation, collaboration, and sustainable practices.

Chairman Zhang's engagements at various forums and panel discussions elucidated the multifaceted role that renewable energy companies must embrace. Beyond simply supplying renewable energy technologies, these companies must spearhead research and development efforts to enhance efficiency, affordability, and scalability of renewable energy solutions. Moreover, companies in the industry must actively engage in advocacy and policy dialogues to shape conducive regulatory frameworks and incentivize investments in clean energy. By fostering partnerships with governments, industries, and communities, these companies can facilitate the seamless integration of renewable energy into existing infrastructure and energy systems.

The participation of the China New Energy Chamber of Commerce, represented by Chairman Zhang, exemplified the collaborative spirit needed to address the complex challenges of climate change. It demonstrated the commitment of China, and South-East Asia at large, in leveraging its expertise and resources in advancing renewable energy solutions on a global scale. His insights underscored the need for renewable energy companies to prioritize sustainability across their entire value chain—from production and distribution to end-use. This entails adopting eco-friendly practices, minimizing carbon footprint, and promoting circular economy principles.

As COP28 concluded, the resounding message to renewable energy companies was clear: the time for passive observation is over. To truly advance the agenda of sustainability and combat climate change, these companies must embrace their role as catalysts for change, driving innovation, collaboration, and collective action. In essence, COP28 served as a catalyst for renewable energy companies to redouble their efforts and commit wholeheartedly to the cause of a greener, more sustainable future. The path ahead is fraught with challenges, but by harnessing the ingenuity, resources, and collective resolve of renewable energy companies, we can navigate towards a world powered by clean, renewable energy.

Plans for Electric Vehicle Battery Charging Facilities in Southeast Asia with Groundbreaking Battery Checking Service

  • These facilities aim to boost the adoption of EVs in the region and help meet ASEAN's target to achieving net-zero by 2050.

Singapore (ACN Newswire) — Tinergy Renewable Energy, a pioneer in renewable energy solutions, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Santa New Energy, to build electric vehicle battery checking centres in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. Santa New Energy is an important strategic investment of Contemporary Amperex Technology Ltd (CATL), the world’s leading battery provider and the largest maker of electric vehicle (EV) batteries.

Currently, batteries in EVs do not get checked nor tested when they are being charged at charging stations and drivers will only be informed of the battery's deteriorating health when they receive a warning light. The planned battery charging and checking centre will be equipped with battery online detection technology pioneered by Santa New Energy to provide complete and comprehensive battery checking in a single charge process without the need to dismantle the vehicle or change the vehicle strategy.

To bring about this solution in Asia, Tinergy Renewable Energy has recently partnered with B2G Energies, a leading renewable energy company, in a separate MoU signing ceremony to bring about solutions for low-carbon cities. This is done by conducting feasibility studies, identifying suitable technologies, and setting clear objectives for reducing carbon emissions.
